HIDDEN ELEMENTS IN TOP MANAGEMENT TEAM PERFORMANCE: THE IMPORTANCE OF CULTURAL
MODELS AND SOCIAL NETWORKS FOR TEAM EFFECTIVENESS.
A comparison of top management team performance shows that 'hidden' elements of performance embedded in social networks, cultural models, and daily discourse often have more to contribute to the potential for effective top management team change than do traditionally considered individualistic approaches. Classic cognitive anthropological methods are utilized, as are social network, organizational cultural knowledge, and discourse types of data. The ethnographic grounding determines a measurable difference between the real and fictional in corporations.
