Summer Internship

The prestigious Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico
offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work
with one of their resident faculty mentors on an individual project focusing on some aspect of the computational properties of complex systems. Click here to read more. Only students who are officially registered in the Human Complex Systems minor can be supported with letters of recommendation from our faculty for this and similar competitive internships.

The Bragin Prize

The Bragin Prize for the Best Simulation Project in Human Complex Systems. Download details here.

Focus: The prize is for the best computer simulation project in human group phenomena. Although aspects of the arts, humanities and natural sciences may be part of the projects, these may not be the focus of the work. Projects that address the policy implications of theoretical and empirical research are especially encouraged. Purely aesthetic projects are not eligible.

Eligibility: Any UCLA Human Complex Systems Minor.

First Prize: $300 and a certificate.
Second Prize: $100 and a certificate.
Honorable Mention: Certificate.

Submission: Submissions must be from projects completed as part of Human Complex Systems coursework and must come with the recommendation of an Human Complex Systems faculty member. Decisions are made by consensus of the Human Complex Systems awards committee. It may occur that no submission is agreed upon in any one academic year.
